Elgin Cathedral
The lantern of the north which was founded in 1224.
Elgin's Biblical Gardens
Adjacent to the Cathedral, The Biblical Gardens offer a stunning floral tribute
to the scriptures.
Spynie Palace
Two miles north of Elgin, Spynie Palace was the residence of the Bishops
of Moray in the 12th century. Mary Queen of Scots stayed here in 1562.
Spynie Churchyard
Where Ramsey Macdonald the first Labour Prime Minister of Britain was buried
in 1937.
Pluscarden Abbey
A beautiful Monastery hosting resident Benedictine Monks. The Abbey was
founded by King Alexander II in 1230.
Burghead's Pictish Fort
Reported to be the largest Iron Age Fort in Britain.
Duffus Castle
A well preserved example of a Norman more and bailey type castle. Built during
the 13th century, Duffus Castle was the original seat of the Moravia Family
which gave the Moray area its name.
